I got laid off from my job a few weeks ago. I had been there for nearly four years. It was a great job and I did some really cool work while I was there. I spoke at conferences, learned more than I could have ever imagined and grew as a marketer.
So when that arrow hit – when I got laid off – it pierced me all the way through and it hurt. I cried.
But the thing is, I had this whole other idea brewing already.
I was already in the process of starting up a nonprofit organization to bring yoga into low-income schools in the Denver-metro area.
So the second arrow of dealing with my job loss didn’t hurt at all. Instead, it sort of broke off and sealed up the wound caused by the first.
So world, while I’m still awaiting final IRS approval, I’ve taken the bad and made something I believe to be useful and good. Authentically good.
I thought I was going to have more to say about this, but I think I’ll wait until I get that IRS approval letter. Stay tuned.
