I am fortunate enough to be a Wayfair Homemaker. It’s just a group of bloggers that spend our time fawning over Wayfair products. And then they treated us to a $100 gift card to add a pop of color to our home. Just like magic. Well, I really wanted to work on the office overhaul with that gift card, but sprucing up the upstairs bathroom was at the top of my list for projects this year.

Oh my. The upstairs bathroom. The room of so much traffic that gets disinfected on a daily basis thanks to the potty training (which is now done!!!). But the boy still dribbles all over, and misses the toilet often when he stands.

So let’s look at some before pics.

before 1

Yep, holy hot mess. It’s clean, I promise you.  Just cluttered. And colorful in all the wrong ways.

The shower curtain has been with me for over a decade. I’m over it.

before 3

Actual bath towels. Just chillin’ super nice for when company comes by.  *SMH*

before 4

Stained bath rug. With the size restrictions of the bathroom (Hello, 1950’s house!) we can only fit one rug in the room. And this one is dingy, stained, and it used to be a blue color.

So that’s it. There is my “before” shame.

Now for a little shopping!

Couple of things were running through my head when shopping. I decided I wanted the shower curtain to stay colorful, but I wanted it to be more of a picturesque focal point. We don’t really have room to hang any art in the bathroom, so a nice image on the shower curtain was going to be where it was at. Also, the towels and rug needed replaced. No question there.

As a lot of you may know, my husband has his opinions on decor. He thinks I go a bit too colorful most of the time. Fair enough. But actually, I like balance. So we work together for approval anytime we change things up in the house. And that is awesome.

I love the designs by DENY Designs. So bold. And I ended up finding some great deals on Wayfair to really stretch that budget. We decided on #5 from the shopping board. I knew that my husband would think the bamboo shower mat was too far out of the norm, so I looked around for some nice neutral grey rugs. Same for towels. To make the shower curtain the pop of color, everything else needed to go neutral.

Here’s what we ended up with!

after 1

Organized and stored. No more eyesore with hair products all over the place. Nice containers and a slight spa-like feel. Especially lovely considering a 3-year-old pisses all over this bathroom.

Ahhhh. Matching towel set. Neutral. Clean, crisp, delightful towels.

And the shower curtain! It’s vibrant, beautiful and invigorating.  A true pop of color. The great thing is that with the flowers, it’s feminine with a hint of sophistication. Still, it’s bold and colorful, which translates to playful for the boy.

And the rug. Clean, neutral and not stained! It complements the shower curtain, and everything in the bathroom is calmer with a much nicer pop of color. It’s a bathroom I don’t mind company seeing.

I had a blast shopping at Wayfair. It was so stinking easy, and delivery was nice and quick.  It turned out that one of my items got cancelled (the towels). So when I went back and bought new ones, I ended up getting charged shipping. I’m telling you this because you need to know that the awesome customer service team over there made sure I got refunded that cost of shipping. Now that is good customer service!

So enough about me and my bathroom. Now let’s hear about where you’d add a pop of color! Leave me a comment and tell me where you’d brighten up a spot in your house with a pop of color and you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card – just like the one I had. And you see how far I stretched it! In your comment link to the product on Wayfair so I know you’re checking out the goods.
